Brilliant location in the heart of the Lake District, 35 min drive from Scafell Pike car park. My room was immaculately clean, with huge bathroom. My dog was welcomed to the hotel. The dining room had amazing facilities so I could cook my meals the way I do it at home. It’s also spacious and very clean. I so much enjoyed staying in this place, thanks a lot to the owners for offering such great facilities! I’ll definitely return again!

An excellent breakfast, while you watch the resident squirrels a metre away outside. One of the highlights of our travels in Britain. There is a resident group of (endangered) red squirrels that have helped make Forest How famous. We met the author of a book about squirrels - he stays there often. Nice walks in the immediate vicinity, lots of small birds and even deer spotted from our room. A great base for a climb of nearby Scafell Pike

we chose this property as it was close to scafell pike which we planned to walk the following day. it was a lovely stay, the bar meal and breakfast were great, all of the staff were seen to be really hard working. the room was very comfortable. it isn’t perhaps as swish as some other hotels have upgraded their fixtures and fittings too in recent years but couldn’t we complain about the stay, and the value for money was great. thanks to all of the staff.

A charming hotel in a rural & beautiful location. Great to explore the Wasdale area of the Lake District& to climb Scafell Pike if you want to! The staff were friendly & attentive. The food was excellent, really delicious! The menu for the evening was extensive & varied. We also loved seeing the Peacocks, Chickens, Geese & the pigs. The jacuzzi bath was such a welcome sight after a long hike. We’d love to visit again!
