Just returned from a lovely 4 night stay at The Cottage. This is a beautifully presented quirky one bedroom cottage, perfect for the two of us. Upon arrival The Cottage was immaculate & is very well supplied with everything you need for a self catering holiday. There is instant hot water even when heating isn't on, shower has great water pressure too. There is a small private patio area off the kitchen which we didn't use during our stay but in height of summer will be a lovely place to sit. The cottage is alongside the electric railway embankment & viaduct; we believe the cottage was there long before the railway (very slight noise as the train passes, but not intrusive at all). Approx a 10 mins walk to Laxey Beach which when we were there the sun was shining & the bay was a busy & happy place. We used (for the first time) public transport into Douglas, buses were every half hour up until 10pm, then hourly (good app available to check times etc). Short walk up some slightly steep hills onto the main road where there's local shops, pubs the electric railway & where you pick up public transport. Highly recommend & would definitely look at staying here again next time we're on the island.

The Apartment had every amenity you could wish for, a real home from home, loved the welcome tea and coffee set up and the hot water bottles were most welcome. The views from every window were spectacular all furniture, bedding was to a high standard. The jet tub was sheer luxury 😌

Property has all the comfort of a modern apartment, it is very spacious & on my arrival spotlessly clean. The bathroom is very well planned & the shower was easy to operate & the temperature was perfect. Bedroom very spacious & the added touch of a couple of hot water bottles was very charming, heating was more than sufficient. Location to both the local CoOp was less than a 5 min walk, bus stops only a few minutes more. Laxey wheels are only 10 minutes walk away & the harbour less than a 15 minute stroll. It is worth checking out the Manx wool mill only a short stroll from the apartment,managed to pick up some great scarves,gloves & the best pair of tweed slippers that I have ever had in my life. There is a lovely walk to visit King Orrys grave which will stretch the legs after a good breakfast. Laxey had alot to offer the seasoned walker & there are some lovely undisturbed opportunities along the old mine route, near the road bridge is a hotel & a great place to start a walk towards Ballasalla.

The stay here was very nice. The hosts are really nice and helpful. Close to the TT but really quiet location. And the landscape here is incredibly beautiful. Definitely recommended.

Promenade house is a great place to stay for a short trip. It was immaculately clean and Kim was so accommodating in letting us drop our bags early and leaving them for the last day until it was time to get a taxi to the airport. It was also so quiet, we didn’t see or hear anyone else!

Mark & Jason are beautiful souls. Lovey decor, everything was comfortable from the sofa, single chairs, dining chairs, bed, bathroom was easy to move around in. The towels nice and fluffy. Nice size kitchen with everything required for a four day stay. TV in lounge room and the bedroom. Plenty of space to hang clothes and plenty of draw space, nice little nook in bedroom for putting on makeup. I love that the mirror in the bathroom has a light and a demister. A nice size fridge. Very, very clean with great views, we were lucky to be on the top floor after 4 flights of stairs don't let that put you off. A nice quiet location. Very quick walk to the city center and foreshore. The bonus for us was having a washing machine/dryer with only travelling with carry-on luggage. Car parking was never an issue always plenty of spaces available at all times. I would recommend any one to book, Mark and Jason are lovely, friendly hosts who also own The Tea Junction which is also a must visit owned by Jason & Mark. The photos on booking.com are exactly what it is like in the apartment.
